Wow, there is going to be a LOT to learn! Yesterday, I took my friend, Cassie, to "Paint & Canvas" in Nashville for her birthday. We were both a little hesitant as to what sort of skill level was expected. Not to worry! The instructor was very helpful and taught us so many useful things. We learned a little bit about a lot. How to use slanted brushes, how much water is needed on the brush for different things, how to create a blended and smooth background (notice our awesome sunset backgrounds!), and many other things.
Our crash course, for lack of a better term, was so much fun! We sat next to a funny (and slightly odd) couple, who were joking around the whole time. I will say however, that so much of the terminology and phrases the instructor used warranted a "thats what she said." Who doesn't enjoy a little giggle now and then when someone CONTINUES to talk about twigs and berries. We all have a childish side, and while drinking wine and painting, it's bound to show itself. :)
I know that the most well-known chain is "Sips 'n Strokes" but this company has a similar style of art and is very small and comfortable inside. Cassie and I LOVED it and cannot wait to go back!
I'm so glad we learned what we did, especially regarding backgrounds (for the project I'm embarking on)!
Let me know what you think of our birdies! :)
